Private Classes

Everyone is unique and general classes often do not address what we specifically need due to our physical condition, mental and emotional needs, phase of life and age group.   Standardized classes may cause physical & emotional imbalances and even injury.   Traditional Yoga is designed to balance our rajas (energy, activity, ambition - restlessness, aggression, anxiety, irritation, exhaustion) and tamas (stability, inertia, heaviness - lethargy, dullness, ignorance, depression) and create sattva - a state of purity, clarity, equanimity, peace, tranquility and a still mind.  Modern practices may aggravate & increase both our rajas and tamas due to incorrectly approaching the physical aspects and neglecting the other important components.   The aim of Yoga is to refine our senses with inward focus (not be practiced with distractions and outer stimulation) and still our minds.

Traditionally yoga was taught one on one and in small groups.   Much of today's modern class formats offer a very limited presentation, isolating practices with a western fitness culture mindset, disconnected from the essence & philosophy (although often selling an exotified "idea" of yoga, taking Sanskrit concepts out of context and given new meanings).   The development of modern "styles" are often contradictory to the traditional framework and application, and are missing a root lineage & important, essential preliminary and fundamental components that constitute "yoga".    Furthermore, practitioners often shop around from modern style to style which can create confusion.

Yoga Vinyasa Krama is a bona-fide, holistic  & comprehensive system/method intelligently designed to meet individual needs, step by step.  It has a wide range of practices that serve specific aspects to address our physical & subtle/pranic body, mind, and spirit. It is an art, science, philosophy, therapy and spiritual practice - adaptive to the unique individual.

Private sessions are tailored to meet each individual's specific needs and goals, offering many techniques for a safe and in-depth yoga practice.   It allows time for detailed instruction, modifications, adjustments, and inquiry.  Classically, yoga is approached differently through the stages of our life.
