All Classes require RSVP. The Schedule may change & evolve monthly to accommodate new students interested in exploring what this system is all about and those dedicated to learning the complete system. I am no longer teaching at the 500 North Main St. location. I am now teaching at different venues, mostly in Sebastopol. Starting in May, classes will be held at 186 N Main St. Suite #240, Sebastopol -Upstairs in the Basso Building across from Bliss Organic Day Spa. Monday mornings I will be at Magick Oak in Glen Ellen (Jack London Square).
New Students are required to attend at least four somewhat consecutive Foundations classes before attending other Yoga Vinyāsa classes. Although, regular attendance in Foundations is highly recommended (even when attending other classes) as one will get a solid understanding of the system, learn more variations in Tāĺāsana, deeper nuances & subtleties and experience the practice unfold. A "New" Student is someone new to this particular yogic system whether a beginner or long time yoga practitioner. The system is very distinct from modern practices including other well known vinyāsa/vinyāsa krama practices . The practices build upon one another for our physical, mental & pranic development. There are certain parameters for implementing the practices and a bit of a shift for some who have studied many modern influenced approaches. There is an emphasis on memorizing and regularly practicing Tāĺāsana, specific purification, prānāyāma & other fundamental practices to set a strong foundation and understand the essence of this particular system. Note the terms beginning and advanced relating to yoga are relative. There are so many aspects, practices and nuances of yoga depending on the practice and context. Tāĺāsana is the foundational sequence and has beginning to advanced variations and levels of practice. Everyone comes to this practice with different backgrounds - and I find that no one is a complete beginner - this system is not just about putting the body in certain positions - it requires mental focus, inner contemplation and dedication to the breath.
If one has any injuries or health concerns, please contact me to see if it is appropriate to attend the scheduled classes. This system can be used therapeutically - yoga is originally meant to accommodate the individual, but group classes can often be unfit for certain individuals. Although the classes are intimate and can be catered to each student with certain modifications, some group classes may still be unsuitable depending on the situation.
I also provide private individual & small group sessions for individualized practice and in depth training.

Prānāyāma & Yoga Nidra (New & Ongoing Students)
Yoga Nidra is an experience of expanded awareness in a state of deep relaxation, promoting parasympathetic dominance. Practiced lying down in savasana with guided verbal instructions that occupy the mind as the body relaxes, we shift into pratyahara (sense withdrawal) – remaining a witness, awake and aware, we move into a subtle state of deep conscious sleep (the state between wakefulness and sleep). We work through levels of the unconscious and subconscious, removing energetic blockages. A Sankalpa (Resolve, Resolution, Force of Will) is established during yoga nidra - when our mind is calm and quiet during the experience, it is more receptive and sensitive to our intentions as they are impressed on the subconscious mind.
We begin with peace chants, calming & subtle evening yogic breathing practices including samantraka/pranava pranayama with rumination on the Om & internal sound current – nada).
